Himalaya Airlines, a Nepal-China Joint Venture Airline, celebrated its inaugural flight to Kuala Lumpur which departed at 8:40 am NST at Tribuhwan International Airport with 100% seat factor, marking the airline’s 3rd destination after Doha and Colombo.

The launch of the flight service was inaugurated by Honorable Minister of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation (MOCTA), Mr. Jiwan Bahadur Shahi, Mr. Buddhi Sagar Lamichhane, Joint Secretary of MOCTA, Mr. Deepak Raj Joshi, Chief Executive Officer of Nepal Tourism Board and Mr. Ahmad Phadil Ismail, Charge d’affaires a.i., Embassy of Malaysia were also on board the maiden flight to Kuala Lumpur.

Commenting on this inaugural flight, Mr. Vijay Shrestha, Vice President, Administration said, “Himalaya Airlines is steadily growing its network of destination. The full seat factor for our inaugural flight and the robust forward bookings we have received for Kuala Lumpur gives us confidence that this route will thrive.”

With the launch of 5 flights per week, the airlines offered irresistible airfare for Kathmandu-Kuala Lumpur-Kathmandu flight starts from NPR 25,375.oo (round trip). Governmental taxes will be extra.

President and Vice President - Administration along with the H9 top management welcomed the passengers travelling on the inaugural flight.

The airline has appointed Carnival Travel Sdn Bhd as its General Sales Agents (GSA) for Malaysia and they will be responsible for the airline’s sales and marketing, market development, reservations and ticketing services representing the airline.
