Himalaya Airlines’ third new Airbus A320-214 aircraft arrived at Tribhuvan International Airport, Kathmandu, Nepal from Hamburg, Germany on Friday, March 31, 2017 at 10:45 am NST. The aircraft, with the registration number 9N-ALW, was welcomed by a ceremonial water cannon salute after it touched down the ground.

This is the second A320 aircraft that is delivered to the Airline within the year 2017 and now the airline is a proud owner of 3 Airbus 320 aircrafts in its fleet. Adding up to 3 Airbus 320 within its 1 st year of commercial flight operations is indeed a remarkable achievement for a Nepalese private airline company. Himalaya Airlines is marked as a fast growing private airline of Nepal and has definitely set an example for Nepalese Aviation sector.

The airline held a special welcome ceremony on the ramp of Tribhuvan International Airport to the much-anticipated arrival. Guest of Honor at the event who officiated at the welcome ceremony together were Himalaya Airlines’ President – Zhao Guo Qiang, Vice President- Administration, Vijay Shrestha along with H9 senior management team.

“The year 2017 has been the year of achievements for Himalaya Airlines as we have welcomed our 2 nd Aircraft on January 31, and launched 2 new sectors- Kuala Lumpur and Yangon in February. With the arrival of third Airbus 320, we plan to expand our global network and strengthen the air connectivity of Nepal to the international arena” remarked, Mr. Vijay Shrestha, Vice President- Administration.

This Airbus 320-214 series is a narrow-body aircraft with 8 & 150 passengers in its Business and Economy seat configurations, ensuring high level of flying comfort.

This 3rd Airbus will enter into service on April 2017 and will facilitate the flights to new sectors such as Dammam, Dubai, Hong Kong, Delhi, Ahmedabad, Chennai, Bangkok, Beijing, Lhasa and Chengdu along with currently flying sectors.
