Himalaya Airlines’ third new Airbus A320-214 aircraft arrived at Tribhuvan International Airport, Kathmandu, Nepal from Hamburg, Germany on Friday, March 31, 2017 at 10:45 am NST. The aircraft, with the registration number 9N-ALW, was welcomed by a ceremonial water cannon salute after it touched down the ground.
The airline held a special welcome ceremony on the ramp of Tribhuvan International Airport to the much-anticipated arrival. Guest of Honor at the event who officiated at the welcome ceremony together were Himalaya Airlines’ President – Zhao Guo Qiang, Vice President- Administration, Vijay Shrestha along with H9 senior management team.
Himalaya Airlines successfully launched its scheduled flight to Yangon, Myanmar today carrying passengers directly to the destination as an initiative to strengthen direct connections of about 300,000 Nepalese in Myanmar to visit their homeland.

Honorable Minister of Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation, Mr. Jeeban Bahadur Shahi, graced the ceremony of welcoming the aircraft with Mr. Devnanda Upadhaya, General Manager of TIA, along with high level officials from CAAN. The much-anticipated arrival was witnessed by Himalaya Airlines’ Vice President- Administration, Vijay Shrestha, Vice President – Operations, Jatinderpal Singh Dhillon, and H9 senior management team.
Himalaya Airlines announces its most awaited second destination: Colombo, capital of Sri Lanka as the airline commences its passenger services on the to Colombo route with effect from October 1, 2016.
After an overwhelming response received from the previous 2 non-scheduled flights to Colombo, this route is found to be very potential. It is an important market for tourism promotion of both countries. Flying to this destination will definitely promote tourism between two nations along with generating new business opportunities.
